Candy Corn Set To Get You Started

I don’t really have anything negative to say about this polish. However, I will say to stay away from cuticles so it looks more professional and applies thin coats. I applied two coats of the color. Also, I used the Gellen Base Coat & PrettyDiva No Wipe Top Coat. Cured in 60 seconds. When applying gel polish you have to file the top of your nail, buff your nail, and clean it with nail cleanser before applying polish & you MUST apply thin coats between cures. That’s the only way it will last on my nails! It’s also no different than the nail salons I’ve been to in the past. Hope this helps those of you who complain about thick polish, not curing, and chipping.

I would consider this one of the greatest nail polish purchases on Amazon I’ve made so far. But of course, there are “better” nail polishes out there, but for me, this particular set of polishes checked off all the boxes that I was looking for.

1. Variety Of Beautiful Colors And Types Of Finish

Every single color is trendy and again the variety is superb. There are glitters, pastels, regular shine, and shimmers. Several types of hues for each color, and it ranges from dark to light colors instead of a set that is all dark or all bright. This is a personal preference that I found a set that had a good variety, and this one hit that mark.

2. Application

The brush is a bit wider than the average application brush, but personally, I like it since it doesn’t take too many strokes to cover my nail. My pinky nail was a little tricky since it is a small space to paint with the thicker/wider brush, but it just takes practice. With my thumb and every other finger, it was great to have a nice wide brush to get almost my entire nail helping me to not leave strokes or needing multiple layers or attempts which make me prone to mistakes.

3. Opaqueness

I have only tried one color so far, but I was incredibly impressed with the opaqueness. It wasn’t perfect, but 2 coats were more than enough. If I was more skilled at applying, perhaps 1 coat could have done it.

4. Drying Time

This polish dries super fast! The advantage is that if you need 2 coats or more, you need only wait 1-5 minutes per nail reducing the amount of time it takes to finish your nails and also because the layers are nice and dry, your second coat will be neatly done. Of course, more time if it’s your second layer or more. I usually wait 10 to 20 minutes per layer for other polishes but this one dried and set incredibly quick. I did some yard work with my husband immediately after and my nails still looked the same as it did when I first finished painting them. The downside to this is that if you don’t apply quick enough once you get started for a single nail, you may experience the polish getting tacky or sticky on the application brush and what is on your nail. I would dip the brush back into the bottle, give it a good shake and then reattempt.

5. Size

They are not too small or too big. I like to play around with colors and change my color often. But with that said, because of my work, I can’t always wear nail polish, so there are long periods of time where I don’t wear any at all. I didn’t want large ones that would remain unused and become a waste. These small ones for this affordable price work very well for me.

I can't believe the value of this kit! It includes everything you need for a salon quality manicure (and some extra). It has everything included in this listing down to the stickers and glitter. This was my very first time using gel polish and it was easier than it seemed. The polish applies so smoothly. It's helpful that you can see what color you are using by looking at the bottles instead of a tiny shade indicator sticker. The finished product has a really nice glossy shine to it. Gellen 36 Colors Gel Nail Polish Kit

I love how many vibrant colors come in this set. You can do so many combinations. It’s a perfect all year round set to purchase because it has great summer colors but also darker and more moody colors for fall or winter. It even comes with an amazing matte topcoat in addition to the normal shiny topcoat and foundation. I am planning on experimenting with that next. These pictures show my nails after wearing the bright pink from this set for almost a week and working every day and as you can see there is no chipping and everything looks newly painted still! I would definitely recommend Gellen as your go-to gel nail!
